Open Letter to Bill Moos, Oregon Duck AD

Dear Mr. Moos,

A one-game suspension for Aaron Brooks sends the wrong message about the principles Oregon Athletics stands for. Before this incident, I thought the Ducks stood for the following:
  • mascots on steroids
  • striped turf
  • great recruiting coupled with terrible coaching
  • marital infidelity
  • getting left out of the BCS
Now, it seems I can add cheap shots to the list. In all seriousness, a mere one-game suspension for Mr. Brooks is unconscionable. A slap on the wrist for a shot to the face? I know you felt like you had to make up for (yet another) disappointing season under Ernie Kent and a win in the Pac-10 title game would have earned Oregon a berth in the Big Dance. Imagine all the billboards you could have erected!

Instead, you have once again sullied the name of the Ducks by refusing to take a hard stance against senseless violence. It was up to you because clearly Ernie Kent lacks the backbone and moral integrity to do the right thing and suspend Brooks for a period of time befitting his crime. If I was you, I would start looking for another head coach who's son will get dunked on by Nate Robinson.

Thank you for your time. If you need me, I'll be taking a recruiting trip to Mexico.

Sincerely,

Hotdog
