Reverse Culture Shock - Country Song Titles

Beat the horse and light the barn on fire - welcome to the second installment of the Reverse Culture Shock Series, Part II: Country Music Song Titles.

Blame Mary Beth for turning me on to a great new country music station. It’s 100.7 the Wolf (aa-oooo) and it doesn’t play commercials, just hits. I’ve been driving up and down the I-5 corridor a lot lately (40-45 minutes in good traffic, two hours in bad) – giving me ample time to get up to speed on some hot new country joints. Here are some of the charming titles on the charts right now.

  • Redneck Yacht Club
  • Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off
  • Billy’s Got His Beer Goggles On
  • Honky Tonk Badonkadonk
And of course who can forget Valenti's favorite song, last year's classic - "Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy."

Other classics include "You're The Reason Our Kids Are So Ugly" by George Jones, "Since His Penis Came Between Us" by John Hiatt, and "Did I Shave My Legs For This?" by some chick.

You gotta love country music - catchy, simple, yet surprisingly clever. If anyone needs me, I'll be at the Hen.

Coming Soon: Another Adam Morrison Essay.
