I was witness to quite a feat last night. At the Steine Grill kebaperie, I walked in at about 4 o'clock to get a kebap. This is quite a feat becuase like my one-man crusade against Dave Matthews for my first couple years, I constantly rail against this genre of late-nite munchies. But I decided, "hey, I only have ten francs left in my wallet, the bill would be really lonely if I just left it by itself all night, I think I will get a kebap."
(by the way, isn't how strange how all financial discipline disappears when you pass the doors of a bar? This feat was first noticed by my beautiful friend Allison in her sociological "Bar Culture" study. Really groundbreaking work, by the way. This article about picking guys up at bars is also quite tasty.)
Anyways, the point of this was to say that, 25-30 seconds after I walked the door, I had in my hand a made-to-order, chicken kepab, paid for and everything. It was really magnificent - one of those moments where time slows down and you know you are witnessing greatness. The Steine Grill's kebap construction - it is just something special. But then again, it also led to a "did that come out of my butt?" moment the next morning.
Hmm...what else was I going to write - oh yeah. I was in the bar last night (paddy's, of course) and some bird walks up to me and says, "would you kiss a foreign chick? It's her birthday." Question for the audience: how do you think this story ends? Better occurence: I tell some Swiss guys I am from Seattle, and what do two of them say? Detlef Schrempf!!! Yessssss...
Earlier, we went to pickwick's for karaoke and they didn't have any Neil Diamond. Travesty? Like the nuggets beating the sonics in the 1995 playoffs.
This is picture of me in Vienna from Easter weekend. That's a palace, bitches.

Hey man, my name's Tran and i was just wondering how you managed to land a job in Switzerland. I am graduating with a marketing degree next year (either summer 2006 or December 2006) and I would love to get a job in Europe. And I would love to know more about what you do in the communications field.
"and i would love to know if you could give me a good rub-down" - tranish. (he told me to tell you)
rowr.
1) working on neil diamond for pickwicks
2) all i can say is i hope you were bathroom bound with foreign chick friday night, and not just to talk on the big porcelain phone.
Hi tran, my story isn't too exciting. I had my resume posted via AIESEC (which it seems you are familiar with from your blog) and i got an email from my PC - she said that there was a company in switzerland that was interested in me. so that's how that happened - i interviewed on the phone and a month later, visa in hand, i arrived in basel.
Since it looks like you know about aiesec, i just applied as an SN and then things took their course. I think with your degree you shouldn't have too tough of a time. let me know if you have any other questions about anything, ok?
Next to nearly neil, I do the best Neil Diamond Karaoke.
Forever in Blue Jeans is my money maker.
Just thought I'd share.
