other thoughts

this may be the greatest year for basketball in the state of Washington EVER. Think about it.

• UW ranked #10 and cruising for a 2 seed in the West
• Gonzaga #11
• Martell Webster (although I have not seen him play in person)
• the others - Jon Brockman, the Williams, Mitch Johnson, Spencer Hawes, etc.
• A grade-A chump-in-training in Micah Downs, who is cruising for a Ryan Leaf-like flameout. (can i get third-party verification on this eight-foot wingspan rubbish?)
• The Sonics
• Lewis & Clark Lady Tigers undefeated (knock on wood) and #2 in the state.

further thought: If you are an NBA GM and you can have Martell Webster or Jonathan Swift, who do you pick? Thought so. White project centers are not a good gamble. (read: Darko.)

And a quote that most of you have probably seen already from Emeka Okafor of the Bobcats about the Sonics:
